Up betimes to negotiate the inclement weather and make for Maryborough - birthplace of Mrs P's mother.
En route we passed through the well-preserved town of Clunes which claims to be the town near which gold was first found in Victoria in 1850.
. The National Hotel "The Nash" which has a "courtesy bus" for patrons. (This would be a worthwhile addition to the facilities at the Railway Hotel at Lundin Links in Scotland.)
At Maryborough we sought out the former residence of Mrs P's grandparents only to discover that the house no longer exists and neither does the street. Still, it was about a hundred years ago! Mrs P's maternal grandfather could boast that he recalled seeing Halley'sComet - twice!!
Arrived at Sea Lake about mid afternoon and drove to Lake Tyrell, the semi-famous pink salt lake.
Returned to the quirky "Lake Tyrell Accommodation" which is not at Lake Tyrell but at Sea Lake and is festooned with illuminated domes.
Planning to head to Renmark in South Australia tomorrow.
