28 September 2024 - Curlwaa to Robinvale

Up betimes! Actually, up a few times through the night but further details would constitute "too much information" - as the saying goes.

Left Curlwaa bright and early to head to  what we consider to be one of the most pleasant caravan parks in Australia - the Robinvale Riverside Caravan Park.

The Prop and Mrs P (probably) first stayed there in 1991 en route to a houseboat cruise on the mighty Murray River at Berri. We stayed there again on our way from Adelaide to Melbourne during the "RWC 2003 Tour" - for which we originally purchased the Tadpole earlier that same year.

We stayed there again in 2014 as part of our "Journey to the Centre of the Earth" (q.v.) and now another 10 years later - almost to the day.

The attentive reader will observe that the verdant grass which was present in 2014 has been replaced by alluvial soil - the result of heavy flooding in the region about two years ago. (This has caused the temporary closure of a number of caravan parks on the banks of the mighty Murray River.)

But the Prop has digressed.

Passing through Mildura earlier in the day the Prop was encouraged to see that the services of "Dr Snip" (and his attractive assistants) are now available in the region.

Dr Snip - "walk in, walk out.. without ..."

The Prop wasted no time in putting as much distance between himself and Mildura as he could - without taking any short- cuts. (Are you with me?)

We arrived at Euston at around midday and took "elevenses" at 12 on the banks of the mighty Murray River.

The Euston Club and Resort - look it up if you are interested

Arrived at the Robinvale Riverside Caravan Park about 1. 00 pm having made a booking the day before. We were unable to get a riverfront site so the Prop found himself in the second row! (see pic above)
